Emily Compton

Vice-President Communications

Hi there! I'm Emily, your Vice-President of Communications. I'm responsible for getting the word out about all of the great happenings at UVic Law and being the contact person between the halls of Fraser High and the outside world. Besides sending out a lot of emails and Facebook posts, I'm happy to hear any and all questions and concerns about the operations of the LSS (or just grab a coffee and talk about Arrested Development way too much).
I'm originally from Ontario, and completed both my undergraduate and master's degrees at the University of Guelph in History. When I'm not squirrelled away at a table on the second floor of the lawbrary, I enjoy swimming, running, cycling, combining these sports in triathlons, playing piano, hiking, camping, cooking massive meals for my friends, and yoga.
This school is a truly special place, and choosing UVic for law school was one of the best decisions I've ever made. The students that wander our halls are astonishing in their brilliance and kindness, the staff are compassionate and helpful, and the faculty are equal parts approachable and wise. During my time here, I have had the chance to get involved with the Outdoors Club, FemLaw, the Slaughter Cup rugby tournament, negotiation competitions, and worked as a Research Assistant for multiple professors, among many other experiences! There are endless ways to enrich your legal education from clinical opportunities to amazing social events. I am honoured to serve as your VP Comms, and welcome any and all feedback.
